his year Flowcrete Hong Kong will once again be sponsoring the ‘Fat Boy Tens’ charity rugby tournament in Angeles City, the Philippines.
Held annually and organised by Pot Bellied Pigs RFC, the event raised $600,000HKD last year in aid of Clark Rugby Club together with the RSL / Rotary medical missions and the PRFU Development Fund.
The tournament brings together teams from widespread geographic locations such as China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand and the Philippines. With proceeds raised from the competition helping to provide vital medicines and vaccinations at the nearby Bahay Bata Orphanage in Angeles City.
Money made from the project also supports the PRFU Development Fund, which covers grassroots rugby development across the Philippines. As well as helping to fund a feeding program for 450 underprivileged children, setup by the rugby club.
As usual this year’s tournament promises to be a bright and colourful affair with a carnival atmosphere, generated by the enthusiastic, fun-loving pigs squad as you can see from the video below of the 2013 event.
