Poland’s Meat Industry Discusses Key Hygiene Topics at Food Safety Conference

Flowcrete Poland has participated in a food safety conference by the Polish Meat Association, sponsoring the event and providing information about floors with HACCP International Certification.

Entitled “Food safety – monitoring the division of competence and experience in cooperation between the veterinary services and processors”, the conference took place over two days in December, from the 9th to the 10th.

The patrons of the event included the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Chief Veterinary Inspectorate and the National Veterinary Institute.

The conference began with a lecture from the Chief Veterinary Officer, who expanded on the theme of the event and talked about how the two parties in question could better work together.

Focusing on the importance of food safety and how to make it a priority, a discussion was raised between processors and veterinary services on their relative strengths and weaknesses and how experience could be exchanged for the mutual benefit and cooperation of both groups.

Over the course of this discussion many practical issues regarding how the meat industry functions and the role that veterinary supervision plays in it were raised. Over 140 representatives from the meat industry and from veterinary inspection gathered to talk over these points.

The conference ended with a panel discussion on food production and how it related to consumer safety and the producer.

The Flowcrete Poland team, who were manning an information stand on hygienic floors throughout the event, found it an interesting two days and are particularly looking forward to seeing how the discussions and information sharing will work to enhance food safety within the nation’s meat industry.
