Flowcrete Middle East recently collaborated with Rixos Bab Al Bahr to provide an ultra hygienic, robust floor coating for its plush five star beach resort situated on the breathtakingly tranquil Marjan Island.
Located on the pristine white sands of Ras Al Khaimah, Rixos Bab Al Bahr boasts its own exclusive stretch of beautiful beach, stylish rooms, upmarket restaurants, stunning views and comprehensive amenities.

Picturesquely situated in Ras Al Khaimah, one of the UAE’s most up and coming destinations and just a scenic 45-minute drive from Dubai International Airport, the exclusive resort oozes sophistication.
In need of a floor finish befitting the hotel’s high standards, Flowcrete provided 1,400m2 of its ultra hygienic, chemical resistant and antimicrobial polyurethane floor coating Flowfresh MF for the resort’s kitchens, bakery areas, back of house spaces, garbage areas and staff canteen.
Rixos Bab Al Bahr recognised that as a luxury tourist attraction it needed to ensure that everything was in order in its back of house areas so as to maintain a high quality visitor experience throughout the resort. Just because an area is not in the public line of sight, it does not mean that standards should slip and the highflying hotel realised this from its inception.
The Flowcrete floored sections provide service for all-inclusive, all day dining in the facility’s eight restaurants and bars and therefore required a floor finish that would facilitate an efficient, hygienic and safe working environment. Rixos knew that if all of these measures were in place, then the customer experience would remain at the highest level.
The versatility of Flowfresh means that it can withstand the daily stresses of a wide variety of environments, from areas subject to high levels of foot traffic to commercial ovens, storage rooms and cold stores.
Coved skirting was incorporated across the floor area, ramps and stairs in order to provide consistently seamless and easy to clean surfaces throughout the complex. Effective drainage was another key area of the floor design to ensure the rapid removal of unwanted contaminants from these sensitive working spaces and to maintain standards both front and back of house.
To safeguard employee safety in what can be a fast paced and challenging environment, the floor finish on the ramps was enhanced with a slip resistant profile that would help to avoid dangerous falls on these sloping surfaces.
