Last week Flowcrete UK could be seen flitting about the capital, taking its systems, knowledge and advice to both the Facilities Show and London Build – for one day sharing its expertise simultaneously at both.
Heading first to the ExCel Centre for the Facilities Show, we were talking primarily about refurbishment solutions and antimicrobial systems. Lots of leading brands were there and headed to our stand to find out how Flowcrete’s floors, such as the methyl methacrylate enhanced Flowfast range, can limit downtime and create a high quality, long lasting surface within a wide range of environments (such as warehouses, manufacturing sites, front of house areas, etc).
The ExCel was a hive of activity throughout the event, with multiple seminars, workshops, lectures and events taking place at once (the Facilities Show, Safety & Health Expo, Firex International and IFSEC International all came together under the umbrella of Protection & Management 2015).
Across the show floor, tens of thousands of visitors met with hundreds of exhibitors, household names including Sir Ranulph Fiennes and Sir Chris Hoy shared their unique experiences, collaborative partnerships and valuable business relationships were formed – and on one stand a 7 ft tall robot danced and shot water from its eyes!
If that didn’t keep us busy enough, on Thursday and Friday we were also showcasing sustainable screeds, underfloor heating and decorative resin coatings at the O2 arena during the inaugural London Build event.
This show aimed to tap into the high levels of growth expected for the region’s construction industry. Thanks to a staggering £21 billion being invested in the city’s office sector last year alone and a residential market under pressure from housing shortages, it’s no surprise that London is forecast to be one of the leading cities for construction.
With high-rise developments a common feature of London’s construction market, it was no surprise that our fast drying, laitance free and environmentally friendly Isocrete Alpha Screed was a popular talking point on our stand. An evolution of traditional anhydrite flowing screeds, this self leveling solution has been used in many of the city’s tallest projects, thanks in large part to its multi-functional finish and machine pumped application method.
Many of the architects at the show were also interested in the samples of our seamless resin terrazzo system Mondéco that were on display. This glittering coating caught the eye and the imagination thanks to its highly decorative appearance, robust characteristics and artistic potential.
Thank you to everyone that dropped by our stand during the two shows! If you’d like to carry on a conversation you had there with one of our resin flooring experts feel free to give us a ring on 01270 753000 or send an email to ukweb@flowcrete.com.
