The car park provides visitors to a commercial facility with their first impression of the business, the brand and their very first customer experience before they have even turned off their ignition.
With that in mind, more architects, facility managers and specification consultants are increasingly focusing on what they can do to create the perfect welcoming and impressive ambience, to ensure that their car park omits positive vibes and sets the customer off on the right footing. After all, the stakes are high; reputations take years to build up and seconds to tear down.
These are just a few examples of how Flowcrete has helped prestigious commercial facilities around the world to create a high-end car park environment.
Riverside 66
Flowcrete China recently worked with Hang Lung Properties on the state-of-the-art, LEED certified Riverside 66 shopping centre in the heart of Tianjin’s Haihe Central Business District.
For this project it was crucial that a top-quality visitor experience was designed into the very fabric of the car park and then extended throughout the mall, from the shops of the 400 renowned international brands, to the dining areas and entertainment zones.
Hang Lung Properties was incredibly aware of the importance of the visitor’s first impression of its brand new shopping centre, and they therefore insisted that as a priority, this space needed to be visually appealing, clean and calm.
To create the desired car park environment 60,000 m2 of Flowcrete China’s Deckshield ID deck coating system was specified. The Deckshield range of environmentally sustainable car park coatings has been designed to enhance a site’s interior aesthetics, sharpen light reflectively and prevent water ingress, making it ideal for this project.
JBR, The Beach
In an effort to significantly enhance the customer experience at its sprawling new ‘The Beach” retail complex, Meraas Holding, decided to install a colour coded system on the floors and walls of its sizeable basement car park to help visitors to locate their vehicles.
Let’s face it, there’s nothing worse than returning laden with shopping bags and not being able to find your car! Luckily, Flowcrete Middle East solutions helped to create brightly coloured zones in this car park to aid visitor navigation around the large structure, turning arguments over where you’ve parked the car into a thing of the past.
Westfield London
Westfield London’s new shopping centre was at the forefront of a £1.6bn regeneration of an entire area meaning that its image was of paramount importance and needed to shout sophistication and evoke the exclusiveness of the high end brands it plays host to.
Flowcrete’s colourful car park deck coating system, Deckshield, was installed across all levels of this mall’s underground multi-storey car park – ensuring that fashionistas flocking to the complex could kick off the retail experience in style!
Located in the trendy Shepherd’s Bush district of West London, the new centre specified Deckshield for the project not only on account of its ability to enhance visual appearance but also to improve light reflectivity and reduce noise from tyre squeal, making the all round customer experience more pleasurable.
There’s no such thing as a second chance at a first impression, which means that ensuring the first port of call for a customer portrays your company in the best possible light is nothing short of essential. Gone are the days of the ‘it’s only a car park’ mentality and swiping money from the parking budget to pay for more luxurious extras elsewhere! Car parks matter to the customers and by enhancing their experience, you’ll be investing in your brand image.
Ask yourself; what does your car parking facility say about your company?
