This weekend, Flowcrete Australia’s Brisbane office took part in the Mother’s Day Classic 2015 to raise funds and awareness for Breast Cancer Research.
Employees Anni Cronin, Vanessa Baker and Ilona Osborne walked the entire 8km along the Brisbane River and South Bank to take part in the annual fundraiser.
The Mother’s Day Classic event was established and organised by Women in Super – a national network of women working in the superannuation and finance sector. All proceeds from the event are donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Since the Mothers Day Classic began in 1998, the event has raised over $24 million dollars.
Flowcrete Australia’s Finance Manager, Vanessa Baker, said: “At Flowcrete Australia we believe that it is important to give back to our community. It is through fundraising, persistence and awareness that one day a cure will be found for this terrible disease that affects 1 in 8 women and one in 688 men.”
The event kicked off over on Grey Street before moving along Montague Road and onto Riverside drive, alongside the picturesque Brisbane River and coming to a climax over on the equally stunning Southbank.
A number of live entertainment acts, delegates and celebrities appeared on the main stage throughout the day and there was fun for all the family including a special kids zone featuring bouncy castles, face painting, bubbles and other kids activities.
The resin flooring specialist, Flowcrete Australia, was delighted to play its part in raising money for such a worthwhile cause and all staff involved had a great time taking part in this year’s Mother’s Day Classic.
