Tony’s Top Tips: Car-Park Colour Schemes

At Flowcrete Australia, we find that a lot of businesses are interested in coating their car park facilities over the festive season, as they have the ability to shut down the car park or section off areas with little impact to visitors.

Heading into the 2014 Christmas shutdown period, I thought I would provide a top tip for car park environments.

When I work with applicators, builders or end-users on a recommended specification for their car park, I often suggest a blend of colours is used within the facility design.

Using lighter colours in the drive zones and darker tones in the car park spaces delivers a combination that produces fantastic light reflectivity.  This can reduce the facilities lighting cost while still providing car park users with a safe, well-lit environment.

My top tip for December: When designing your parking facility, don’t be afraid to use a combination of light and dark colours. This design feature can provide both functional and aesthetic benefits.
