The Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) is an internationally recognised body for the advancement of architecture. Each year RIBA host a series of CPD Roadshows across the United Kingdom, providing a unique opportunity for construction and design professionals to learn from members of the RIBA CPD Providers Network. As well as providing RIBA approved CPD, the Providers share their knowledge and expertise on a range of innovation products and latest technologies in the world of architecture.
Here we explore the top 5 reasons to attend these RIBA Roadshows, but first we explain why it could be necessary for you.
What is CPD?
CPD is also known as Continuous Professional Development, something that all professionals are now expected to, and often required to undertake as a form of lifelong learning. With the construction industry ever changing, with new innovations and technology, CPD within this industry is paramount.
What is RIBA CPD?
As in most professions, partaking in CPD is obligatory for Chartered architects. For the members of the RIBA Core Curriculum, key architectural skills are covered in a variety of learning activities. Chartered members are obliged to undertake a minimum of 20 hours of their yearly 35 hours CPD from this curriculum, with two hours of CPD time in each of ten key topics.
