Flowcrete Middle East’s Marketing Manager milks the delivery of a long standing promise to bring the joys of Dubai’s Melon Milk to Flowcrete Group’s UK headquarters.
Ian Jones, the Flowcrete UK Marketing Manager, received the exotic beverage, described by Middle Eastern Marketing Manager Will Facer as “nectar” on behalf of the UK site in a formal trip to the cafeteria.
After expounding on the virtues of the beverage, which is made from combining melon juice with milk, several months ago, William (Will) Facer ran into difficulty supplying his UK based colleagues with his native tipple of choice.
Mr Facer said: “It’s been an uphill struggle to get the drink here. I experienced a problematic order through a web based retail service that significantly set back the endeavour.
In the end Mr Facer had to bring the beverage with him while travelling into the country, which raised concerns over customs. He said: “There’s no point crying over illicit milk.”
The Middle Eastern Melon Milk-man delivered the delectable delight in a colour coordinated ensemble that matched the juicy green aesthetic of the milk’s packaging. The handover ceremony took place at the Flooring Technology Centre.
On tasting the canned cornucopia of fruity/dairy creaminess Mr Jones was transported back to his childhood, specifically to a shop in Mallorca where he ate melon as a youth.
He told Mr Facer: “Honey! Dew got some good Melon Milk!”
After smashing his first drink, Ian is now left with only one juicy green can. Speculation as to where, when and how he will be able to satiate his Melon Milk fix in the future abounds.
