Flowcrete Middle East has been celebrating the success of its home city Dubai in winning the bid to host the World Expo 2020.
Bringing the multi-billion dollar event to Dubai marks a significant achievement for the whole region, as it’s the first time the event will be held in the Middle East.
25 million people are expected to attend and Flowcrete Middle East is looking forward to joining them at the prestigious event.
The World Expo 2020 will act as a catalyst for large scale construction projects. The city’s theme for the event is “Connecting Minds, Creating the Future” which will inspire the $25 billion development of a 483-hectare site that will be turned into a dazzling showcase of the nation’s architectural, industrial and business acumen.
The main buildings have been designed around a traditional marketplace. Three large pavilions will be constructed, representing the themes of “opportunity, sustainability and mobility”. At least half of the energy for the Expo will be generated by a giant blanket-like structure made from photovoltaic panels which will also provide shade along the main walkways.
Our team in Dubai are excited about the plans as they have gained a lot of experience providing solutions for similar projects.
Are you planning on being one of the 25 million people that visits the event? If so we hope to see you there! Why not let us know what you think of the development plans in the comments section below.
