David McNeece Reviews Singapore’s BuildTechAsia 2013

Exhibiting for the first time at BuildTechAsia, held for its third year at the impressive Singapore EXPO centre in August, resin floor specialists Flowcrete arrived at the three-day event eager to meet with attendees who had made the journey from across South East Asia to uncover the industry’s latest product solutions and technologies.

Here, David McNeece, International Marketing and Business Development Manager for Flowcrete Group, takes a look at some of his highlights from this year’s show…

“BuildTechAsia was a huge milestone for Flowcrete Asia this year, giving us the opportunity to re-launch our brand to the Singapore market following recent structural changes within the business. For me personally, heading up business development and sales operations for Flowcrete in Singapore the event represented a breeding ground to network with folks from all areas of the Singapore Built Environment.”

“For Flowcrete, BuildTechAsia got off to a busy start. Not long after the show opened its doors for its third consecutive year, I took to the stage, hosting an educational seminar entitled ‘Resin Flooring: Performance vs. Design” within the Product Demonstration Hall.”

“For me, the seminar was aimed at delivering a new message to the industry. Although many have long been aware of the performance advantages of seamless resin flooring in industrial spaces, many are still surprised by the design capabilities and product innovations that make the material an attractive choice within commercial settings too.”

“It was nice to see a diverse range of industry professionals and students alike turn out for the educational seminars and as a new segment for the show this year is something I would like to see heavily promoted for next year’s outing.”

“Back at the Flowcrete Asia booth, traffic remained constant throughout the three-day event with a steady stream of visitors keen to know more about our seamless solutions. The show also provided an opportunity for us to launch our latest resin flooring range – Expressions.”

“Comprising three newly innovated systems in a total of 20 new colour ways, the Expression range offers clients a choice between solid and multi-dimensional marbled colour tones or alternatively a striking galvanised metallic effect to offer the highest artistic design finish on the surface of the floor.”

“With various samples of our new line being showcased on the booth, the product proved popular with a good mix of architects and designers who were amazed by the material’s unique and highly decorative finish.”

“Positioning our stand close to the show’s Beer Garden proved a stellar tactic, placing us right in the epicentre of the buzz. Attracting many visitors throughout the afternoon, the Beer Garden was an excellent spot to toast new clients, brainstorm new project ideas and wind down after a busy day on the stand.”

“All in all, BuildTechAsia 2013 was one of our most successful trade events this year, a must-see for those with a serious footing in the Singapore construction industry and a show that you will definitely find Flowcrete at in 2014.”
